Exploratory focus Computational Science / High Performance Computing
Universität Regensburg 'First principle' calculations for 'strong interaction' are performed. This interaction causes for example quarks and gluons to form bound-states like the proton. To do so high performance computers are used, which are partially developed and built in-house.
